Iran's Non-Oil Exports Hit $8.2 Billion

Farod Asgari, Deputy Minister of Economy and Head of Iran's Customs Administration, announced that the country's exported goods in the first two months of this year increased by 4.4% in weight compared to the same period last year, while their value declined by 0.11%.

Asgari stated that the average customs value per ton of exported goods during this period was $335, which is 4.3% lower than the same period last year.

According to him, 5.718 million tons of petrochemical products worth $2.217 billion were exported in this period, showing a 4% increase in weight and a 3% rise in value.

Regarding major non-oil exports in the first two months of 2025, Asgari mentioned that the top five non-oil exports included liquefied propane at $643 million, natural gas at $455 million, liquefied butane at $452 million, petroleum bitumen at $419 million, and methanol at $388 million.

He further noted that the seven primary destinations for Iran's non-oil exports during this period were China ($2.425 billion), Iraq ($1.5 billion), the United Arab Emirates ($1.094 billion), Turkey ($673 million), Afghanistan ($374 million), Pakistan ($322 million), and Oman ($305 million).

The Deputy Minister of Economy also provided figures on imports during the first two months of the current year, stating that 5.921 million tons of goods worth $8.471 billion entered the country, reflecting a 1.16% increase in weight but a 7.8% decline in value compared to the previous year.

The average customs value per ton of imported goods was $1,431, marking a 9% drop from the same period last year.

Major imported items during this time included raw gold valued at $860 million, animal feed corn at $657 million, rice at $289 million, sunflower seed oil at $215 million, and soybeans at $211 million.

Regarding Iran's major trade partners for imports during the first two months of 2025, Asgari cited the United Arab Emirates ($2.596 billion), China ($2.206 billion), Turkey ($1.367 billion), Germany ($308 million), India ($291 million), the Netherlands ($215 million), and Switzerland ($190 million).
